RELATED TO POLICY SERIES NO: 8020

TITLE: NAMING FACILITIES

I. College facilities, sections thereof, or any area of the college may be named according to the following criteria:

1. According to function or use of the facility

2. According to the location of the facility

3. According to geographic feature such as a river.

4. For individuals or businesses having a significant impact on the college through an important donation or outstanding service to the college.

II. The President will recommend the name to the Board of Education after review and discussion by College Council. The President may appoint a committee to assist with the development of recommended names. If a committee is formed and a donor is involved, a staff member from the College Advancement Office should be on the committee. Signage considerations will involve the Director of College Advancement.
