ADMINISTRATIVE RULE NO: C111

RELATED TO POLICY SERIES NO: 7110

TITLE: REPAYMENT OF STUDENT LOANS

Students who receive monies from Pell Grant, Supplemental Grant, National Direct Student Loan, Need Grant, or Cash Award and who withdraw from before the end of the quarter enrolled will be obligated to repay, according to the following schedule, a portion of the cash they have received. In addition, the Financial Aid Office will review the student's grade record at the end of each quarter for indicators of absence from class. If no grades, A,B,C,D or passing grades have been found, the school will request a 100% repayment of all financial aid monies received by the student for that quarter.

A student who has not received any positive grades for a quarter will be assigned a 100% repayment rate. That rate will remain until the student provides a verifiable last date of attendance. If assigned 100% repayment rate, the student will have 60 days from the day of billing to appeal the amount owing through the Financial Aid office. To successfully appeal, the student will be required to provide written proof from at least one instructor as to the last verifiable date of attendance.

Repayment Schedule. If the student establishes a last date of attendance according to the schedule below, the student will owe the following monies from those disbursed for the quarter (the current term's tuition is not included).

A. If no grades are recorded or only indicators of non-attendance, then the student is required to repay 100%.

B. If the student attends through the first week of class only, then he/she is required to pay 100%.

C. If the student attends through the second, third and fourth week, the first $300 is exempted and the student owes 80% of the balance.

D. If the student attends through the fifth, sixth and seventh week, the first $500 is exempted and the student owes 60% of the balance.

If the student verifies attendance through the eighth week of the term and officially withdraws during or thereafter, the student shall not be required to repay monies to the financial aid program for that quarter.

FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID RULES STATE THAT NO ADDITIONAL MONIES FROM ANY GRANTS, LOANS, OR THE COLLEGE WORK-STUDY PROGRAM MAY BE PAID TO A STUDENT WHO OWES REPAYMENT.
