II. Implementation Procedures

A. The individual must pass his/her final GED exam and earn the GED certificate within one term after he/she meets the attendance requirement.

B. Any program or class for which regular tuition is charged is eligible for the waiver program.

C. The waiver program covers per credit tuition and fees only; it does not cover lab fees, course fees, or textbooks.

D. Application forms may be obtained from the GED instructors, the GED Office at each of the Centers, or from the department of secretary in the Developmental Studies Office on campus.

E. The tuition waiver will apply to a class schedule of 1-17 credits. The waiver may be used in any of the four terms immediately following the completion of a GED. The waiver may only be applied to tuition and fees in one of the four eligible terms.

F. Students will be allowed to have tuition and fees waived for one approved student success course taken in the term the waiver is being used. Enrollment in this course is not included in calculating the 7 credit maximum.

G. The tuition is based on the in-state rate. Students who are not eligible for the in-state rate are required to pay the difference between the in-state rate and the rate charged based on residency.

The Dean of Student Services will administer the plan.
