WEB/Luckiamute Center Renovation Work on the former Workforce Education Building, now the Luckiamute Center, was completed in November 2004. Reconstruction took place due to damage caused by a fire in the December of 2003. Staff temporarily moved to the Fireside room while reconstruction took place. The building now houses Family Resources & Education, Family Connections, Life & Employment Devlopment (JOBS), Adult Basic Skills Development (ABSD), GED/ESOL programs and Printing Services. Total square footage is 14,062, with construction cost at approximately $1.3 million-which was covered by insurance. Building replacement cost was $871,656, furnishing and equipment replacement cost was approximately $450,000.
Printing Services moved into the building as part of the reconstruction. This allowed better access for loading paper products and a user-friendly space for Printing Services, and opened up key instructional space in the area previously occupied by printing.
