Health Occupations Dental Assisting Lab Remodel Project The remodeling of the Dental Assisting Lab was completed in the fall of 2003. The wall dividing HO-209 and HO-211 was removed, new flooring was installed, and new cabinetry was added. All the dental chair units were relocated into the expanded HO-209 lab. This allows the Dental Assisting students and staff to be in one room while patient care is provided. A total of six dental chair units are located in the new expanded lab. In addition to it's teaching function, the Dental Assisting Lab is used
by staff/students in offering dental care to community patients in the
Dental Link Program. On campus, students provide community members with
x-rays, cleaning and fluoride treatments, pit and fissure sealants, and
oral health instruction, providing students with hands-on training and
experience.
