North Santiam Building

Ground breaking and construction of the new 20,000 square-foot multipurpose building took place in December 2004. The new building, named North Santiam, will house 10 general classrooms, 14 faculty offices, and space for students to gather for informal study. Hi-tech wiring will also access to the Internet using wireless connections.

The two-story building is located behind and to the north of the Arts, Humanities and Social Science building. Current cost is $3,466,847.29 including furniture and equipment, to be funded out of the remaining $5.7 million in bond funds. Construction will take approximately 11 months to finish, and the building should be ready for classes by January of 2006.

The building was designed by Albany architect Don Johnson of DJ Architecture. Triplet-Wellman of Woodburn is the general contractor.
