CLOSING THE
BJ - college is gearing up to do CCSSE, beginning in May, talking with Instructional Council at next meeting. All ideas welcome. Similar timeline, getting results in August, can use results in your division/department and IR will help you interpret. Letter from Rita to campus as whole, then from IR.
SENSE - similar to CCSSE; in early phases of development, called the ENTERING student survey of engagement. Conducted the 4th and 5th week of the fall term. What are they observing about staff behavior; measures student engagement in college early on. Set of questions that gives information around advising and another around courses, which we don’t get from CCSSE.
Will also give us good information for a grant we are contemplating applying for. Would do CCSSE and SENSE in alternating years. Carol noted that preliminary work is done but the final decision to participate has not been made.
