Other Funding Sources
The major sources of discretionary funding, besides the federal government, are private foundations and corporations. They differ widely in their application requirements but their procedures are usually far less demanding and rigid than the federal programs. Nevertheless, their procedures must be followed closely for you to be taken seriously.
State funding may also be a possibility in some situations, but you would probably learn of these opportunities in the course of your work.
The LBCC Foundation has a competitive grant program providing up to $5,000 for specific projects. Click here to see their proposal application form (pdf*).
